Planning Commission denies Masson Estates 5–0

Commissioners found that environmental impacts — emergency access, response, and evacuation — outweighed the project’s benefits.

On July 8, 2026, the Saratoga Planning Commission voted 5–0 to deny the Masson Estates Builder’s Remedy project on Pierce Road.

The stated grounds were environmental: emergency access, emergency response, and evacuation impacts outweighed the project’s benefits. The applicant appealed on July 13, 2026.

City materials listed an August 19, 2026 City Council hearing. On that date the Council voted 5–0 to grant the applicant’s appeal, reversing this Commission denial. See CRED’s August 19 note for the Council action.
